VESTA VARRO : WINNERS OF INDIE WEEK 2007.

Since performing at IW2007 the band has captured the hearts of many new fans in Canada. The band has returned to Canada to growing audiences to perform at CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK and the ROGERS SPRING MUSIC FESTIVAL (since then the band has been firmly planted on the campus radio charts). While in Canada the band recorded some demos and met with producers + labels. The interest is growing.

Vesta Varro are simply a great band on the verge of breaking. It their explosive live performance and solid songwriting that helped this band become winners of INDIE WEEK and it is also the reason why INDIE WEEK is coming to Ireland.

"Since seeing Vesta Varro at last year's festival, I have seen this band grow and become even better - which is a main reason why I am eager to help them out. And from what I have heard there are a lot more talented acts in Ireland just waiting to be discovered" - Darryl hurs, INDIE WEEK.

Indie Week Ireland : Walter Mitty

WALTER MITTY & THE REALISTS

New wave/ Funk/ Punk

website: www.waltermittyandtherealists.com

Currently recording their debut album with ‘The Cranberries’ Fergal Lawler, Walter Mitty & The Realists, who formed late 2006, are rapidly becoming one of Ireland's most exciting and best known live acts. This is in no small measure due to their “uncontained psychotic live energy”, combined with songs, which are “gems”, according to Hotpress’ Jackie Hayden, in a review of their recent show with Dirty Pretty Things. Amazingly, although as yet they have not officially released any material, national T.V. and radio broadcasters 2FM and TG4 are among many others who have invited them into their studios to play live. 2FM later recorded a live show in Cork’s Cyprus Avenue for broadcast. Keep your eyes, and, your ears out for them!
